Capa de Cuentos

Los Nietos presents bilingual children’s performances involving acting, live music, shadow puppetry and ample audience participation, with the mission of serving latino and bicultural audiences and promoting cultural understanding.

 

Capa de Cuentos is an original bilingual (Spanish/ English) theater piece enhanced by shadow puppets, marionettes, and live music. The protagonist in the story is a young girl, Clarita, who goes out in search of her grandfather’s soul. On the way she meets a variety of unexpected characters, each of whom helps her in her journey of discovery. The story culminates in the ritual preparing of a Day of the Dead ofrenda. The show is then followed by Q & A/ discussion.
